The relationship of Christian Europe and the Church with Judaism has been varied and complex over the centuries. It has often been characterized by strong hostility, with Jews, for example, not only being seen as opponents of Jesus as the true Messiah, but also often being accused of responsibility for his crucifixion by the Jewish party and the Pharisees, writes Markus Andersson .

Scofield and the Jews as a Chosen People
In the 19th century, a new Christian movement emerged in the United States and Britain, inspired by biblical prophecies of the return of the Jews to the Holy Land and linked to the return of Jesus to earth. Some evangelical groups soon began to see the restoration of Israel as a necessary and divine plan.
In 1909, American theologian and preacher Cyrus Ingerson Scofield wrote a study and reference Bible, known as the Scofield Bible, which quickly became widely used in the United States. Its emphasis was on the proclamation that every good Christian should also stand with Israel and the Jewish people – and that anti-Semitism was considered a particularly grave sin.

“ Any man or nation who lifts his voice or hand against Israel will incur the wrath of God ,” says the document, which interprets biblical texts very literally. It repeatedly emphasizes that the return of the Jews to Jerusalem is a central part of God’s plan of salvation for humanity.
It is also taught that Israel will play a crucial role in the apocalyptic events of the last days, which evangelicals believe will precede the return of Jesus to earth, and that God's prophecies in the Old Testament are about the Jews—not Christians.
The book is generally interpreted to mean that it is the moral and spiritual duty of every Christian to support Israel at all costs. If this is not done, according to this interpretation, the Bible's prophecies will not be fulfilled and Christians will not receive God's salvation and blessing.

The Scofield Bible's influence on evangelical movements has contributed to what has been described as an almost unconditional support for Israel – something that has come into renewed focus amid international criticism of Israel for its brutal policies in Gaza, which have included accusations of genocide and led to the country's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, being wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The term "Zionism" was first coined in the late nineteenth century, and referred to the movement for the return of the Jewish people to an assured and secure homeland in Palestine. When we left Lückhoff, we knew we were heading for the small town of Orania. We found a beautiful gravel road on which to travel. We saw amazing scenes and wildlife on this road. Then we reached the bridge which crossed over the mighty Orange River. We couldn’t help ourselves, we had to stop on the bridge and witness this awe-inspiring view. It is truly a spectacular sight to behold, the green fields of the local farmers are virtually on the banks of this river. Then we entered Orania and the first impression was that of a well-oiled machine. The town was very neat and it was a real pleasure driving through the streets. The residents of this place were so friendly, everyone waved at us as they drove by. We also found quite a few places of interest to visit, like Monument Hill and the Koeksister Monument down by the swimming pool. I was happy to see that the village was expanding, there were many new houses being built. It was great to have visited Orania.

Elinor, 41, has not suffered any adverse effects after getting her first dose. But she started experiencing chest pains after the second dose.

The doctor has told her that there’s an irregularity in her electrocardiogram (ECG). After another round of ECG test, as well as x-ray and echocardiogram, Elinor has been diagnosed with pericarditis.
“I was really scared because I did not know anything about pericarditis. What’s the meaning? Does this mean I have long-term damage?”
Pericarditis is inflammation of the pericardium, a sac-like structure with two thin layers of tissue that surround the heart to hold it in place and help it work. A small amount of fluid keeps the layers separate so there’s less friction between them as the heart beats.
It can be life-threatening when too much fluid gathers in the pericardium. Excess fluid puts pressure on the heart and doesn’t allow it to fill properly. Less blood leaves the heart, causing a dramatic drop in blood pressure.
Healthy senior diagnosed with atrial fibrillation
Esti, 76, has been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation after getting the second dose of the vaccine.
